How to participate:
Complete the online registration form and you will receive a copy of the completed form via email.

The following must be stated on the back of the artwork:
"Bing Shu Guan Cup" Hong Kong Youth Calligraphy Competition 2021
Name, School, Art Studio, Age, Competition Category (Elementary/Secondary), Contact Number, Email

Submitted works:
Entries should be mailed or delivered in person to the Military Arts Education Centre, Room 1108, Pak Lee Commercial Centre, 87-105 Chatham Road South, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong. Entries must be received by the Centre on or before Friday, December 10, 2021. For mailed entries, the postmark date will be considered the submission date.

Registration deadline:
December 10, 2021 (Friday)

Important days of the competition
October 1, 2021 - Begin collecting registration forms and artwork.
December 10, 2021 - Registration closes and submissions cease (mailing deadline is December 10 (based on postmark)).
December 29, 2022 - Results Announcement (Results will be published online, and individual winners will be notified by email regarding prize collection arrangements)

The awards include one champion, one runner-up, one second runner-up, and five merit awards.

One champion will receive a trophy, certificate, and five calligraphy lessons (group class) at the Military Academy.
Runner-up (1 winner) - Trophy, certificate, and 5 calligraphy lessons (group) at the Military Academy.
Third Place (1 winner) - Trophy, certificate, and 5 calligraphy lessons (group) at the Military Academy.
Five winners of the Excellence Award will be awarded certificates.

In addition, there are "Most Active Participating School Award" and "Most Active Participating Art Studio Award", which will be awarded trophies to encourage schools and art studios to participate actively.

All winners will receive a calligraphy brush made under the supervision of Teacher Lin Zi.

Judges: Mr. Lin Zi, founder of the Military Strategy Library, and the judging panel

Scoring Criteria:
Brushwork - Writing Techniques 30%
Character structure - clear definition and appropriate proportions (20%)
Composition - Overall layout, location, and selection of 20% of elements.
Ink Techniques - Ink Application Skills 15%
Calligraphy style - 15% based on the difficulty of the calligraphy style

Articles of Association and Terms:
1. Entries must be handwritten by the entrant. If an entry is found to be a work not created by the entrant, the entry will be disqualified.
2. Each participant may submit only one entry.
3. The organizers will not handle any mailed entries that are returned incorrectly.
4. Once submitted, no changes will be accepted, and submitted works may be returned as requested in the application.
5. Participants' personal images, works, or award information may be uploaded to the organizer's website or promotional publications for promotional purposes.
6. The award ceremony and award collection arrangements will be announced later.
7. Participants should provide their personal information to the organizer for this competition so that the organizer can effectively carry out this event.
8. In case of any dispute, the organizer (Bing Shu Guan) reserves the right of final decision.
